RE:       Clarification of Meet Entry Procedures

 

Be aware that all families were given a list of meets OCCC would be attending at the time of registration.  In addition, a handbook with specific guidelines was given at that time identifying the website for the team.  Bulletin boards and mail boxes also serve as methods of communicating important information.   All meets are posted well in advance on the website and the bulletin boards.  Each application for the meet lists in bold print the due date for that meet required by the OCCC team as well as the e-mail address of the team registrar.  The closing date for our team is typically well in advance of the closing date of the meet because these meets fill quickly and in order to ensure that the team is entered, we must register early.  EVERY SWIMMER on OCCC has the same closing date.  Late entries are NOT accepted from anyone.  You cannot enter as an individual through the meet director because you are a member of the OCCC team through USS Swimming. Your paper entry will not be accepted.    It is the PARENT’S and the SWIMMER’S responsibility to sign up for meets.  Team members are NOT notified personally regarding upcoming meets.  All the information is posted clearly in several venues. As advised in the handbook, parents are encouraged to read the website and the bulletin boards frequently.  Board members and coaches are available to answer any questions you may have, but exceptions for late entries WILL NOT be made for ANY ONE at the risk of jeopardizing the entire team.  Please do not expect special consideration.  Every swimmer is provided the same opportunity to enter the meet.  Please respect the volunteers who help this team and do not try to circumvent the guidelines that have been put into place.  These policies ensure fairness for everyone.
